Maud Street Partners is dedicated to partnering with client management to add value at each stage of the growth cycle from initial expansion, increasing investments in equipment and working capital, to succession of ownership, or through liquidity events.
Maud Street Partners principal Tony Bowker served for sixteen years as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Goose Island Beer co., and as President of Virtue Cider. He was instrumental in the acquisition of both companies by Anheuser-Busch InBev, and subsequently served as a strategic advisor to London's Camden Town Brewery, and as a board advisor to ABI during the development of The High End craft brewing division.
During his tenure with Goose Island, Tony experienced each stage of the life cycle of craft breweries from the operation of brewpubs, to the development of a packaging brewery, the restructuring and expansion of the distribution network and exports markets, the development of branding and trade marketing programs, recapitalization of equity and restructuring of debt, extreme stresses to the supply chain, contract and co-brewing operations, expansion of capacity to support 30% CAGR, acquisition by strategic investors, and continuous implementation of advanced management systems.
Tony is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He graduated from the Executive MBA program of USC's Marshall School of Business, and from the Siebel Institute of Brewing Technology.
Prior to following his passion into the craft beer business, Tony worked in international public accountancy followed by senior leadership positions in private companies across diverse industries where he was instrumental in recapitalizations, turnarounds, long term growth, and high-valuation exits for founders and investors.
